Credibility and Vulnerability

Promises are odd things. We put very little emphasis on them until there are random ones that if ignored and not followed through on will crush us. My line of work is such that credibility will make or destroy my God given career. It is not like a person who works in a law office where if they lie and still get positive results, they are rewarded rather, it is the opposite. The results are not the point of what I do but rather the relationship is the critical element. Now some may argue that the relationship is the result but I am not altogether sure about that. What I do is quite specialized and as such the rules set out for other youth pastors do not always apply. The relationship in my case is apart from the result of my work and yet it is the same. So after that bit of nonsense… Promises can be boiled down to a persons perceived importance inn an event. If we choose to be honorable and Godly then we will follow through on our given word. If we chose to go back on our word then we do not act in a Godly manor.
This has been a hard day for me. I have had several promises given to me and then broken. I feel as though I have been punched in the face. Some will affect my career both directly and indirectly. Some are a breach of trust. All are from people who profess my best interests in there heart. This can not be true. There must be another agenda at hand. Do not think that this is a product of my inability to see the big picture. That is not what I am talking about. This is damaging stuff.
Today my heart is broken
There you have it………………………. For anyone who wants into my life
Part of credibility is vulnerability.
Credibility and vulnerability are powerful tools. Use them do not abuse them. You can not have one with out the other.

Credibility and vulnerability are also the scariest two things to display, the easiest two things to lose, and the hardest to things to get back.
Good show old bean.
