mmmmmmmm hotrods

The wiring is almost totally fixed. The truck now runs, charges the battery, has a radio, fan, lights, windshield wipers, brake lights, and some of the gauges even work. (They all need to work) I took the hood off and the dash out. I have cleaned up the inside and found out that it has NEW carpet! I have fixed most of the speakers and the one that is still bad will be replaces very quickly. The truck runs good now! I still need to wire in the new electric fan and the kill switch. It needed to have the ignition interrupt switch (a switch near the shifter (on the floor ) that stops it from starting in gear and driving down the back ally without you in it!) realigned and the wires had fallen off anyway. This is why the truck wouldn’t start for 2 years. One quick fix later and we are golden! Now time to replace the steering wheel. I think I will go for one off a mid eighties firebird. They look cool and the one currently on the truck looks terrible. Now for the seats. The ones in it are a good enough stile but they are broken and dirty. If I ever want my mom to ride in the truck I will need to make sure it is clean. Also with the new carpet the junky seats look terrible. I will get some seats out of an astro van. I like those ones. I am going to put in a new cam also. The one in it is very mild. It is called an R.V. grind and It could stand a much hotter cam. Also they sound cool. The engine has roller rockers and flat top pistons already and with a new cam it would be the perfect nitrous motor. The tranny is built to handle way more power than what it has so this wont be a problem. I found one for $100.00 used and I might just need to do that. We will see. I am also thinking of redoing the dash. The one in it looks good but it has a kind of paint on it that they no longer sell. That one I don’t know about yet. It also has a role pan instead of a bumper in the back and it is bent in. so I want to pull that out. Then a clear coat repaint and we are done. We will see!

You are truly an automotive artist. I'm impressed! Not that I ever thought you weren't but reading it actually puts it into perspective!
