music

music is an odd thing. everyone seems to love it and i think it is because it evokes an emotional response. even the toughest, dead inside, roughest, never did care, person will be cut into by the right song. most of the top 40 stuff i hear each week is neither here nor there for me. i listen to it because of my desire to know what is culturally relevant at the time. it doesn't get me (although i did like "low" but music has an uncanny ability to express whatever i am feeling at the time. i currently have an album playing on my computer that was last heard by me in the late 90's it is an old Jann Arden album. it is on because when i got here today, nothing would do but Jann! I have never had that happen before but that is where we are at right now. I have had the need to listen to a specific artist before, but not Jann. it makes me wonder!
on a completely unrelated note, i am reading a book entitled

postsecret
13345 coper ridge rd.
germantown
maryland. 20874

it is a book buy a guy named Frank Warren who has left hundreds of self addressed stamped postcards in public places with the challenge to "anonymously contribute a secret to a group art project. your secret can be a regret, fear, betrayal, desire, confession, a childhood humiliation. reveal anything-as long as it is true and you have never shared it with anyone.
this book is fascinating and heart breaking. not for the faint of heart
go get it. go read it
Jann Arden helps!
